We continue to move forward and In June as we restart our CCA community activities we have our second major event planned that we will need your help as volunteers.
As we have done in the past, we are hosting an event with the Safe Shelter/Camp Rock Fishing events that is scheduled for June 28th.
As you know these upcoming events that involve children are designed to help them learn about our
environment, the joys of fishing and an opportunity to spend time outdoors here at The Landings.
Here is some background: this event allows the children who are living in the shelter a chance to get out of the city and spend time in a supportive environment.
We want the participants and volunteers to have fun and your participation will help ensure that the events that are sponsored by our CCA group are successful and memorable to you and the participants.
We are looking for your help as a volunteer:
The Event: Safe Shelter – Camp ROCK
- When: Monday June 28th
- Event Time: 9:30- 12:00
- # of Kids Attending: 15
- Volunteers Needed: 9:00 – 11:30
- Number of Volunteers Needed: 12-15
Volunteer Responsilbities: Include coaching, teaching safety, baiting hooks, handling fish, sharing insights about cca, fishing & other topics.
Those of you that were lucky enough to participate in prior years’ event know that this is always a great time and those who have not yet done it will find that it is a great way to spend a couple of hours with a child to help them and share your life experiences.
As we know spending time enjoying the outdoors and helping others is a key part of our life as members of CCA here at the Landings.
