INTRODUCTION TO FLY FISHING SEMINAR SCHEDULED FOR DECEMBER 9
Fly-fishing is a fun and rewarding outdoor pastime and our island’s lagoons are a great place to get started… and catch some big fish too! This seminar is intended for new/novice fly anglers and topics will include:
- Rod/reel and line options for our lagoon fishing.
- Setting up your outfit and fly selection for our local waters
- Fly fishing strategies for lagoon bass and bluegill (we will do a separate seminar about catching saltwater species in our saltwater lagoons.)
- a few fly-fishing knots.
- fly casting basics
The seminar is scheduled for Tuesday, December 9, 10:00 am to noon or so. We will be in the pavilion adjacent to the playing field at the TLA office.
The fishing clinic is for CCA members only. If you would like to join CCA, go to the "Members" tab on our web site and follow the prompts. The clinic is limited to 12 anglers, so please register at your earliest convenience. After 25 sign ups we will set up a wait list. The cost for the clinic is $10.00 per angler and includes flies, snacks and refreshments.
We have a handful of fishing equipment available at no charge, please contact Doug Painter at 203-545-5299 if you have any questions.
