Join us at the CCA Skidaway seminar on Monday, February 10 at 7 PM for an insightful evening with Tyler Jones, Public Information Officer for the Coastal Resources Division (CRD) of the Georgia Department of Natural Resources. This exciting event will be held at St. Peter’s Episcopal Church, located at 3 West Ridge Road.
The Coastal Resources Division is dedicated to balancing coastal development with the protection of the coast's natural assets. Tyler Jones is at the forefront of this mission, always seeking innovative ways to educate and inform the public about the importance of preserving Georgia’s coastal ecosystems.
As the Public Information Officer for CRD, Tyler plays a pivotal role in managing media relations, public outreach, environmental education, and communications. His dedication to promoting the CRD’s mission of conserving and protecting Georgia’s coastal natural resources is evident through his engaging storytelling and effective communication strategies to ensure current and future generations get to enjoy all the amazing resources the Georgia coast has to offer.
His accomplishments include the prestigious Employee of the Quarter award due to his exceptional contributions to CRD. He has led significant events such as CoastFest and contributes to the quarterly publication Coastlines. He will represent CRD in this year’s academy, showcasing his commitment to leadership and community engagement.
Jones is committed to promoting CRD’s mission of conserving and protecting Georgia’s coastal natural resources through engaging storytelling and effective communication strategies. Jones is dedicated to fostering connections between CRD and the diverse communities it serves, helping to highlight the beauty and importance of Georgia’s coastal ecosystems. He is a former newspaper reporter and editor, and a Navy veteran. He has worked for CRD since 2018 and resides in Brunswick.
