The CCA Annual Ki
ds Fishing Derby is scheduled for October 17th at
the Kids Fishing Lagoon beginning at 8:30 with fis
hing between 9:00 and 10:30 As you know children a
nd grandchildren ages 3-15 of Landings residents a
long with their guests are invited to participate.
\n \n <
p style="margin-bottom:11px\;">This is always an exciting event which pro
motes sportsmanship\, conservation\, and provides
a terrific community experience. We have begun our
planning process and are reaching out to you earl
y in this process to recruit volunteers for a numb
er of positions.\n \n A key part of the suc
cess of this CCA Skidaway event is the role volunt
eers have played in making it a memorable day for
every participant. We are looking for your help to
register as a volunteer early. The number of volu
nteers that sign up early will define the number o
f kids that can participate in this event\, so ple
ase sign up and help us plan this event.
\n \n Here is a summary of the responsibilities of
each volunteer group.

Event Set Up: As an Event Set Up vo
lunteer you will need to arrive one hour before th
e event starts\, placing signs for the event\, pre
pare fishing rods for the kids\, setting up bait t
ables and other tasks as needed. We are anticipati
ng will need 5-6 volunteers for this role.
\n \n
Registration Desk:
As a Registration Volunteer\, we would like you t
o assist in signing in the kids\, help in the comp
letion of the registration worksheets\, distributi
ng the give-aways and assist in summarizing the ki
d"s catch results at the end of fishing to determi
ne fishing prize winners We are anticipating that
we will need 6 volunteers in this role.

e\, you will help kids stay safe\, bait hooks\, la
nd fish for youngsters when needed\, untangle line
s\, record/count fish catches and\, teaming up wit
h Fishing Buddies to help kids having no luck catc
hing fish. We are anticipating that we will need 2
0+ volunteers in this role. <

As a Fishing Bud
dy\, we would like you to circulate around the lag
oon during the event to help kids “catch fish”\, w
ork with referees to identify which kids need help
\, check their equipment and bait being used and s
how them what they need to do to be successful ang
lers. We are anticipating that we will need 6-8 vo
lunteers in this role.

Photographers: As a Photographer\, you
will take photos and short videos that record the
event so that it can be shared on our website. We are anticipating that
we will need 5-7 volunteers in this role.<

vent Clean Up: As
an After Event Volunteer\, we would like you arriv
e at the kids lagoon no later than 10:15am to help
\; remove all signs\, dispose of any unused bait\,
clean the area of any trash left behind\, return
and store fishing rods used in the event and to se
t aside any that have been damaged during the even
t. We are anticipating that we will need 5-7 volun
teers in this role.

process you will be asked to select which area you
would like to be a volunteer\,<
